My eco-challenge comparing the value of my Goosemoor vegebox with the same items bought from two major supermarkets, a local greengrocer and a city centre market (see blog entry below) has made The Independent today, thanks to Martin Hickman, the Indie's Consumer Affairs correspondent. Go to The Big Question to see Martin's report, which neatly summarises the realities of the supermarkets' price wars and examines the reasons why food prices are rising.

I've issued the story about my price comparison exercise -i n which the organic vegebox worked out better value than both Tesco and Sainsbury's organic and non-organic fresh fruit and vegetables - as a press release and will be talking more about the subject in my York Food Festival demo next week (Thursday 25 September, 3pm, Parliament Street) as well as at the literary dinner at York's Dean's Court Hotel in the evening.
