More press coverage

I had a busy few days pre- and post- book launch, with lots
of publicity for Confessions of an Eco-Shopper on the radio and in the
press.
Last week found me doing interviews on LBC (with Mariella Frostrup), BBC Radio York (the Breakfast Show with Reynolds & Co), BBC Radio Tees and a live link-up to Marbella to broadcast on Radio Europe Mediterraneo FM, Spain’s largest English-speaking network. Most of the interviewers wanted to talk about beauty products because of the extract that ran in the Daily Mail. All to the good, obviously, but the book’s about much more than that so I’m pleased that the print coverage has been more general. Besides the Daily Mail extract, I’ve had several write-ups in the local papers, with a short preview piece in The Press York’s daily paper, on 04.08.08 prior to the launch at Borders last Thursday and a longer, full-page feature in the Books section on 09.08.08 by Stephen Lewis. The Yorkshire Post also did an interview with me that ran today. They ran a banner on the front page, too, with me brandishing my compost-bin lids like a cheerleader! Unfortunately, there were a few inaccuracies in the Yorkshire Post’s piece – principally the claim that I shop at a supermarket once every six to eight days (it’s every six to eight weeks!) – though my husband was also surprised to learn that composting guru John Cossham had saved our marriage, as well as my compost bin . . . I’ve done a couple of pieces for the national press, too – a women’s magazine and a colour supplement – that I’ll provide the links for once they’re published. Major one coming out this Sunday! Stay tuned . . .
