I'm about to dash off to take the daughter to drama class - she is not happy about going; this acting lark is beginning to ask her to expose more of her own feelings - but I wanted to just add a coda to the column in the Press today.
(Coda: that's my new-found musicianship showing. Not. I always miss them in band practice and get hopelessly lost.)
Anyway, it really has been a blast doing the column and whenever I've told people I'm stopping it, they've been disappointed ... probably because most of them are my mates and they feature regularly in it. And I am indebted to the friends who've made frequent appearances, particularly Pauline and Karen and Lucy and H and of course Yvonne, my neighbour, and Baby David the Yorkie, who is now going to have to set up his own website because he has such a fan base.
I find it amazing, and hugely gratifying, when even people that I don't know approach me and tell me how much they enjoy the column, which happens enough to feed my fragile writer's ego. But still, I've had to sacrifice it because I need to concentrate on this new book, which has really come about through doing all those eco challenges I've written about in the Press, so in a way you've been a part of it, too.
I will, if I can find the time, keep a mini column going on this blog, so check in from time to time if you can. Thank you for reading me - I'd waffle on but if I don't go now we'll be late for drama. And that could turn into a crisis.
Love and peace.
Katie
