I’m not sure if we’ll receive any Christmas cards this year. Last December, in a bid to be more environmentally friendly, I cut right back on greetings cards and gave the equivalent amount to the Pakistan earthquake appeal. I sent my friends festive emails, explaining that I’d paid for a tent for refugees instead, but I can’t stop the nagging doubt they’ll think I’m an old skinflint.   more »

Two weeks ago it was all happening too early. Now, I'm panicking. We've had our first Christmas card - from Yvonne, with a picture of Jake looking adorable in a sparkly Santa coat - bearing the inscription, 'We woof you a Merry Christmas' (Jake, in case you need reminding, is a Yorkie who thinks he's human; I assume he dictated the message) and I haven't done any.   more »
